Harbor Gateway Neighborhood Council, District 6 Representative Marvin Bell attended the event against gun violence held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the corner of Manchester and Vermont where hundreds of shoes lined the street of Vermont at Manchester. Each pair of shoes represented a life that was tragically taken as a result of gun violence.
Larry Morrison was honored for his role in personally adopting his neighborhood elementary school and volunteering there working with faculty to spend quality time with special needs young African American boys who have no father figure.

HGNNC delivers backpacks to schools
On May 23 the HGNNC Ad Hoc Homeless Issues Committee assembled and distributed backpacks filled with toiletries to our five elementary schools for them to distribute to their homeless students.
The Finance Committee will be reviewing all received requests at their May 30 meeting before recommending requests which meet HGNNC goals and funding guideline requirements to the full Board for approval.
