Our elections will be held next June and now is the time to think about running for a seat on our Board. You an already register to vote online. Step up your civic engagement in the new year!
We will be having elections on Saturday, June 11, 2016, 10am-4pm at the 135th Street School Auditorium, 801 W. 135th Street, Gardena, 90247.
Candidate registration has started and continues until 11:59 p.m. on Tues. April 12. All 17 Board seats are up for election and the term for each is two years. This election season will be a bit different in that for the first time voting will be done online. Voters will sign up to vote. Voters may vote online May 21-June 11 or may sign up and vote in person at the polls. Voting at the polls is done online and devices will be available for voters to cast their ballots.
Voters must be 18 years old to vote and provide proof of your status. Even, if you are already registered to vote in regular city, state and federal elections, you will need to register for our election separately, as the systems are different. Also, if you are a stakeholder for multiple Neighborhood Councils, you will need to register for each one separately.
