What does the Planning & Land Use Committee Do:
The committee makes recommendations to the Board on Planning and Land Use Issues, including the following:
Committee members are expected to listen to the detail of land use proposal presented by applicants for projects in the Harbor Gateway North, to fairly evaluate the impact of the projects on the surrounding neighborhoods, and to make recommendations for improvements to the project proposals.
The Committee then makes it recommendations to the full HGNNC Board, whose members vote on its position to support or oppose the proposed project.
The Committee meets the First Saturday of Each Month.

If you live, work or own property in District 1, we have a seat for you! Please complete the HGNNC District 1 Rep Application and email it by August 9 for consideration at our August 15 meeting.
City Controller Ron Galperin reports that voters had a right to expect more progress by now. Not one unit has been built under HHH.
Harbor Gateway North Neighborhood Council held a whole fiesta around our elections this year to encourage people to come out and vote. Voters were invited to enjoy free tacos, document shredding and more. Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations to the winners!

This is your opportunity to call your Senators and those on the Housing and Judiciary Committees to voice your opposition by submitting on the website no later than this Thursday May 30th if possible.

Speakers warned that while the bill is currently not being considered it will likely come back and opponents need to be ready for the next round.
The Strengthening Local Transportation Security Capabilities Act, H.R. 2539, would reduce emergency response times by putting more federal law enforcement officers and resources near high-risk surface transportation assets, including LAX.
