The Harbor Gateway North Neighborhood Council issued a letter to City Planning in support of the SoLA Impact development at 11630 S. Main Street. The transit oriented community project is to have 84 apartment units, which includes 20 low income units.

HGNNC Helps Homeless Youth
On May 23 the HGNNC Ad Hoc Homeless Issues Committee assembled and distributed backpacks filled with toiletries to our five elementary schools for them to distribute to their homeless students.

LAPD Seeks Input on Video Policy & Police Chief

Winter Wonderland Comes to Harbor Gateway
Harbor Gateway North was pleased to welcome Santa's sleigh on December 11, as part of the Winter Wonderland Celebration. The sleigh left the Southeast LAPD Division about 4pm and traveled south through our community distributing candy along the way.
Los Angeles City Section 8 Waiting List to Open October 18
The Section 8 waiting list for housing vouchers has been closed since 2004. The waiting list application will open on Monday October 16 at 6 a.m. and close on Sun. October 29 at 5 p.m. Applications must be received online and applicants must have an email address.

Prologis Proposal Positive for Harbor Gateway?
The jury is out on whether the proposed distribution facility for 747 W. Redondo Beach Blvd would be great for the neighborhood. We are awaiting the traffic study and environmental impact report.
Funding Requests Due June 30

Public Comment Open for Commercial Cannabis Ordinance
City Council opened a 60 day public comment period June 8 on proposed ordinances regulating production and sale of commercial cannabis. Now is your chance to review the proposals and speak up about the production and sale of cannabis in your neighborhood.
Green Up Day
HGNNC Supported the May Green Up Day which cleaned up streets and alleys from 167th to Gardena between Hoover and Vermont. Also, trash was removed at Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve, near Vermont Avenue and Artesia Blvd. In addition, vegetables were planted and garden boxes were stenciled on-campus.
